In close co-operation with Demcon Indes developed the Colibri. This arm support serves as a self-adjusting wrist support for surgeons during elaborate and precise operations. It is of course utmost important that they have great control over their movements at all times. Before this product was developed, it was not possible to have a sufficient support for arms and wrists, which lead to several complaints and RSI-like injuries. By pressing a foot pedal on the base frame of the support this fixation is being released and the ingenious balance mechanism compensates gravity so the cups gently push upward with a force of 25 Newtons. Now the surgeon can easily move his hands to a new position. He or she then releases the foot pedal and the fixation is on again.
